Truth and Deception. A conversation with Elly Johnson
Do you know when someone is being truthful? Do you believe someone simply because you want to believe them? Are you checking that your emotions match the facts?
In this episode, we chat with Elly Johnson a respected thought leader specialising in truth and deception.
Elly Johnson is a former Police Officer turned communication specialist, trainer and keynote speaker. She shines a spotlight on critical elements of robust relationships and healthy workplaces; speaking the truth, building trust and obtaining truthful information. Curious about complex communication challenges and different interviewing styles and techniques Elly studied internationally to better understand how to obtain critical information from people, evaluate truthfulness and credibility, and protect from harmful deception.
We chat with Elly about truth and deception in life and at work, how to spot the red flags and what steps you should take to confirm how you feel. We also discuss how we all have been deceived and why, and what we learnt so it doesn't happen again.
